Game Night (2018)

Action comedies are pretty common. But action comedies with a dash of suspense? Can’t think of many. In Game Night, a game-loving married couple (Jason Bateman and Rachel McAdams) and their friends are invited to participate in a murder mystery party set up by Max’s rich brother Brooks (Kyle Chandler), but shit gets real once Brooks is kidnapped by actual thugs. That gun you thought was fake? You better not press the trigger.

Game Night is a fun ride that keeps you guessing, but what really drives this jaunty shot of escapist entertainment is the chemistry between Bateman and McAdams, who truly seem to be having a great time looking for clues and chasing airplanes. I’m game for a sequel.
